WHAT’S THE STORY:
It’s 2041. And the race to reach the biggest dangling carat in history is on.
In an age where technological advances have brought space flight within the reach of all bar the very poorest of society, leaked news of the discovery of an asteroid made of diamond sends the world into a frenzy, the like of which the planet hasn’t seen since the California Gold Rush some two centuries previously.
Despite his best efforts to keep news of the discovery secret, head of the Space Exploration Council (NASA’s successor), Errol Haygue, is forced to travel to the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter to oversee the harvesting of the asteroid’s priceless deposits.
Meanwhile, diamond barons in South Africa are busy hatching plans to ensure not a single carat of alien sparkling rock makes it back to Earth to threaten their lucrative business.Stuck in the middle are hundreds of private individuals racing to the belt aboard self-funded and fueled ships with dreams of fame and fortune.
Among them, Simon Remnant, a no-good divorced father of one who’s one of the very poorest of society - and to prove it, he has been wasting his life getting wasted in London.
That all changes when news of the asteroid discovery spurs him into action.
Will he and his crew of ill-matched astronautical novices survive the journey to the belt, grab a life-changing share of the loot and make it back to Earth before Haygue, the diamond barons and the crew's inexperience cause their mission to end in disaster?

A well crafted tale of the underdog

DALE, USA
Ok, here is the thing that is amazing about this book. There were several instances of what?-that's-not-possible situations such as doing a space walk with no spacesuit, just an oxygen mask. But the book is so good you dont care! It's as if the author asks the reader to just be child-like occasionally and accept that dogs fly and cats talk, forgetting how physically impossible both are. I dont know how he pulled it off, writers magic? However, he did it!

NO WORD OF A LYMON...
“Twinkle, twinkle, little star. Whoever thought you’d start a war? Sye Remnant is going up where he doesn’t belong, into space searching for a diamond asteroid - and himself. You don't need to suspend your disbelief to enjoy this. You need to completely expel it. Be prepared to do that, and you’ll love this escapist tale of the underdog up against big tech.”
