 I’m Jon Lymon, an indie book author whose best selling titles include the novel The Wronged and the novella The Ghost of Christmas Threeve. Not heard of either? Well, like I said, I’m an indie book author.

For the whole of 2025 I tracked the sales, giveaways, and KENP performance of my books (10 novels, 3 novellas and several children’s books). The tracking was manually conducted, looking at reports from Amazon and D2D. No Ai was used, because Ai never needs to be used when you have a brain.

Now I’m sharing some of the results, which may or may not be of interest/assistance to other indie writers. If not of interest, you should have left this page before reading this sentence.

Does what day of the week it is matter when it comes to book sales for the indie author? That’s the question I wanted to answer, and although I’ve only got a small sample size to draw on (1 year’s worth) it seems the answer is a resounding ‘yes’!

When it comes to book sales, there was a clear winning day for me in 2025. But before that honourable mentions must go to the 3^rd best day of the week for book sales which was: SATURDAY.

Second place when it comes to the total number of sales generated was MONDAY.

But the top day of the week which not only generated the most sales but also the highest value of sales was: TUESDAY.

Learnings

I’ve no idea why Tuesday’s should be the clear winner when it comes to sales, but it seems to make sense to keep this day clear of freebie giveaways in 2026 to see if this works to generate more sales.

I’ll report back at the end of June if anything of note has happened.
