Call me presumptuous ("Hello, Presumptuous") I would have thought that the end of the month would be party time in terms of Amazon free book offers. People grasping the chance to line up new books for a new month.
But hold your horses, or any other four-legged beast you have to hand.
The 30th and 31st of each month proved to be the worst in terms of generating interest in freebie book giveaways on Amazon.
These are the findings of 2025, a year in which I tracked the performance of my books, and offered at least one for free almost every day of every month throughout the year.
The last days of the month were consistently poor for freebies, with the 21st third worst, the 25th fourth worst and the 16th coming in fifth worst.
Learnings about Amazon free book offers
Loading up your freebie giveaways in the first half of the month would appear to be the sensible move and it’s something I may well do in 2026.
Avoiding the last day of the month, be it a 30 day or 31 day month would seem to make sense, given you are limited to 5 freebie days per 3 months.
